Former Simple Life star Nicole Richie, 26, will expand her presence on the small screen this fall, when she appears in an episode of the NBC comedy Chuck, the network announced exclusively to People. And Richie will be playing a role all too familiar in Young Hollywood: the Mean Girl.

According to NBC, Richie will play a “snarky and spiteful girl who tortured” actress Yvonne Strahovski’s character in high school. In the episode, airing sometime this fall, Strahovski’s character, Special Agent Sarah Walker, “must face her fears when she is forced to attend her 10-year high school reunion,” for a mission with costar Zachary Levi (Chuck) as her date.

Chuck’s executive producer Josh Schwartz says, “Nicole auditioned for the part and was very funny. This role is a great opportunity for her to show off her comedic skills and be diabolically evil and kick some butt. It’s going to be really fun.”

Richie has also guest-starred on 8 Simple Rules … for Dating My Teenage Daughter and American Dreams.

Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe finalized their divorce just 12 days ago, so now it’s time for the gossip magazine charted race for the new celebrity couples to hit the altar.

Ryan debut his girlfriend Abbie Cornish, the actress who was supposedly the ‘other woman’ in their marriage, at an Australian film award show earlier this month. Now Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal are moving in together.

Meawhile, the blonde beauty Reese Witherspoon and her two children have just moved into a £1.9 million house in the cosmopolitan district of “Notting Hill” to be closer to her love Jake Gyllenhaal.

The romantic 32-year-old star, which was considered as the Hollywood’s highest paid actress, took a four-month break from work so she can be closer to Brokeback Mountain actor Jake, who is currently filming in London.

The actress revealed, “Reese loves England and has been really looking forward to spending this time living with Jake.”

I don’t know if a temporary move for work can be called officially moving in together, but I guess traveling across the Atlantic ocean to be together has to count for something. Us Weekly is covering this also but I can’t get my hands on the content so I have to assume this is the same story.

Hollywood Reporter today says that Reese is still the highest paid actress at $15-20 million a film. Others in the top ten include Cameron Diaz, Julia Roberts, Halle Berry, Nicole Kidman and Renee Zellweger. I can’t believe Julia Roberts is still on this list following her break to have children, she’s made so few films over the last three years.

Picture note by Celebitchy: Here’s Reese Witherspoon at the airport on 6/21/08. The main thing that struck me about these pictures is that her glasses look really dirty.

Don’t expect Ricky Martin to step back into the limelight any time soon. The fly Puerto Rican pop-icon plans on taking some time off to dedicate himself to his philanthropy work.

Ricky admits that he has had thoughts of throwing in the towel and giving up on his charity projects,

“I am honest, sometimes I feel like throwing in the towel and that’s what moments of frustration are all about, when we see a problem just get worse and worse. We are part of an industry that generates millions of dollars, and unfortunately, its mission is to destroy the spirit of our kids.”

Let’s me real…Ricky conducts more philanthropy work than your average celebrity, and actually seems genuine about his efforts.

Take a break to save the world kid. Your fans will be cheering you on when you get back to shaking that lovely culito.

Seems like whatever’s going on with John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston, the musician is doing it “from the heart.”

Asked about the 39-year-old “Friends” star he’s been photographed kissing, Mayer, 30, told USA Today: “All I can tell you is that I have made every decision in my life with complete authenticity. My feet are firmly on the ground. If you do things from the heart, it feels awesome.”

Before he reportedly started dating Aniston, Mayer called actress Minka Kelly to tell her he was leaving her for Aniston, the New York Post’s Page Six gossip column reported.

A Kelly pal told Page Six, “Minka received a call from John prior to the story breaking about his relationship with Jennifer. He apologized to Minka, [saying,] ‘Sorry, but I’m really in love.’”

Kelly found that interesting, as “during his relationship with her, John mentioned, ‘I don’t really get this Jennifer Aniston thing,’” the pal said.

Mayer also spoke to the Telegraph’s Seven magazine about his reputation as a womanizer.

“Instead of worrying about career damage, I’ve dated women,” the singer-songwriter stated plainly. “All I’ve ever done was decided that I fancied somebody, and said, ‘Would you like to go out and get a meal somewhere?’ And done so in a social setting, where other people can see you. And then maybe, ‘Would you like to go have another meal?’ Maybe did that a few times.”
Mayer said he’s tried to quit relationships when things weren’t working.

“When I realized that I didn’t wanna wrong anybody by continuing, [I] said, ‘I’d rather be a great friend to you than a bad boyfriend,’” he said. “I swear to God, I have a really good track record!”

Mayer added, “I’ve never cheated on anybody, so you won’t have anybody coming out the woodwork saying that I have.”
