After working out at the Equinox Gym in New York, John Mayer chatted briefly with reporters about his break-up from Jennifer Aniston. The singer, who appeared nervous and emotional during the conversation said, “There’s no lying, there’s no cheating, there’s no nothing.”

He sang Jennifer’s praises and summarized the reason for the split by saying, “I ended a relationship to be alone, because I don′t want to waste somebody′s time if something’s not right.”

Ouch. So he totally admitted that he’s the one who ended things. Nice going, John. Meanwhile, here’s John trying to fight off the blues by spending some time out with his brother and friends.

Courtenay Semel claims she was Lindsay Lohan’s first lesbian lover and not Samantha Ronson as is popularly thought. A friend of Semel′s told The Sun that during the course of their romance, Lohan was plagued with worries that her sexual preference would be discovered. That’s also why she reportedly slutted it up with a bunch of guys.

Courtenay told her pal, “At the time she was terrified her career would be over if she revealed her sexual tendencies. But then Samantha came on to the scene and I was dropped.”

That’s gotta hurt. But it only makes sense that Lindsay would prefer Sam–she’s just such a jaunty little hat collection.

Madonna celebrated being half a century old by throwing on some shiny accessories over an all-black ensemble and stepping out with her husband Guy Ritchie. The couple hit up the Volstead club in London’s West End.

At least these two aren′t breaking up over her birthday. That in itself is quite the present. Also, she looks good in these pics and that’s not always the case, even with her “new new” face.

The actor’s longtime production partner Paula Wagner is stepping down from her position as chief executive of United Artist. The group, which is owned by MGM, will retain Tom Cruise as a full partner, even after Wagner’s departure. Yeah, blah-dee-blah industry talk.

Matthew McConaughey hit the beach this weekend without his baby mama Camila Alves and new son Levi. Camilla was probably busy taking Levi to bongo lessons, because that kid is growing up as fast as Robin Williams in that Jack movie. We’ll probably catch him surfing within the next week or two.

I’m beginning to think that parenting is really starting to get to that crazy head of his (either that or those shorts are squeezing him a little too tight you-know-where). He’s actually wearing a top for once! I know. It’s part of his wet suit and he didn’t have it on the whole time, but it should count for something. Anything covering Matt’s pectorals is a rare sighting.
